摘要

On the 26th of July 2005, due to a cataclysmic opening of the heavens and poor urban planning, Mumbai came to a standstill. I was a final year engineering student in Mumbai at the time and had to wade through waist deep water to get back home and witnessed first-hand the chaos all around me. Cars were floating along the highway, people were stranded on overpasses and the city infrastructure was crippled. It took the city the better part of a week to limp back to normal, thanks to the kindness people showed to each other to pull through. In addition to being a threat to physical safety, this resulted in - significant financial losses to businesses of all sizes.
