摘要

An improved fast marching approach for endocardial boundary detection and tracking in echocardiographic images is presented. Firstly, the traditional fast marching algorithm is applied to the echocardiographic images. And the existing problems are discussed. Then, the algorithm is improved by introducing the average energy of the whole advancing front into the speed term instead of determining the speed term only with the local image features. The experimental results show that the improved algorithm is very effective and stable.
