New duty to report dangerous foods

Starting September 8, 2009, food companies have an important new legal obligation: They have to report to FDA when they discover a food has a reasonable probability of causing serious adverse health consequences or death to humans or other animals. It's a significant new burden on companies that adds a new legal obligation to food companies, one that can create some pragmatic difficulties for the companies.
