Conference focuses on transportation of hazardous cargo

The Responsible Container and Packaging Management Association of Southern Africa (RCMASA) is holding an International Transport & Environmental Conference from March 2-4, 2009, at ICC, Durban.rnIn addition to the conference, parallel training workshops will be held on March 5-6 at the Hilton Hotel, Durban, which focus on international maritime dangerous goods transporation compliance, testing and certification of packaging, transport of consumer goods, as well as transport of aerosol cans.rnThese one and two-day training programmes provides participants with a working knowledge of the regulations. The International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) governs the transportation and security of dangerous goods by water domestically and internationally. Training subjects include classification, packaging, marking, labelling, documentation, handling, container packing, consolidation, shipping, segregation and basic stowage.
