The Kepak Group is an Irish company with a manufacturing operation in Kirkham. Previously, ready-made burgers were assembled manually with six employees placing burgers in buns and inserting them into blister packs. In addition, each pack included a sachet of sauce and a slice of cheese. Kepak wanted to automate the process, and the challenge was to output 80 products per minute.
