Harpak-ULMA Packaging was issued a U.S. Patent for its C-Pak reclosable package for high-speed modified atmosphere packaging. The package is characterized by a lower shelf, film-seal flange and an inside closing, interference-style lid that better seals and retains product moisture after the package is opened because it closes on a much larger surface area via the flange. The design allows for unique package shapes, is peggable, stackable and can be shelved on its side. Customer Great Lakes Cheese uses three different C-Pak designs.
