Located in a 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Frankston, 20 miles south of Tyler, Texas, Frankston Packaging is a full-service manufacturer of custom and stock paperboard folding cartons for the food, beverage, cosmetic, and neutraceutical markets. Founded in 1957, Frankston has seen four-fold growth since its purchase by Norm Bullock and co-owner and president Kyle Eldred in 2000 and is still growing and adding new business. Aiding this growth is an aggressive program of capital investment intended to increase efficiency and offer customers a wider range of value-added options. Over the past five years, the company has invested more than $7 million in new, highly automated equipment, including a Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 UV press and a prepress upgrade from Esko Artwork. Also fueling production are a Maxson sheeter, Bobst folder-gluers, a Bobst diecutter, a Western Slope folding carton edge-stacking system, and a Geitz Tray Former. Along with the new equipment, the manufacturing facility was renovated to manage climate control and improve workflow.
