For decades, September has always meant one thing for the printing industry - a trip to Chicago for Graph Expo, the largest annual trade show and exhibition for the graphic arts, but this year will look a little different. The city on Lake Michigan will not provide the show's backdrop, instead, Graph Expo will head to Orlando, Fla. As Mark Michelson, editor-in-chief of Printing Impressions reported after the venue change announcement was made, there are multiple reasons why Graph Expo will be moving south for this year's show. Michelson spoke with the then-president of Graphic Arts Show Co. (GASC), Ralph Nappi, who explained that part of the reason the show relocated to the Orange County Convention Center was that scheduling allowed it to avoid an overlap with Rosh Hashanah, the celebration of the Jewish new year.
