European Commission Sets Out Proposals for Global Pact on Climate Change at Copenhagen

Next December the global community will meet to negotiate a new international climate agreement to become the successor of the Kyoto Protocol. Ahead of the meeting, first concrete proposals are to be released in February, while a negotiating document should be available by June. The Copenhagen deal should both set global goals to reduce emissions and provide the basis for strengthening countries' ability to adapt to climate change.
