Flow coordination and information sharing in supply chains: Review, implications, and directions for future research

摘要

As information technology advances, its use makes information flow easy and meaningful. Information sharing has become a key in integrating various functions in the supply chain management. As financial and information flows are important, the physical flow of various components play an equal role in supply chains. However, it is observed that without proper coordination among the activities coming under the purview of supply chain management, the firms of interest may not be able to satisfy its ultimate customers. Various research articles addressing the issues on information sharing and physical flow in supply chains are reviewed. These articles are classified with regard to various dimensions. The observations and implications extracted from this review work are presented.
