摘要

To propose a model for problem decomposition based on the design of agent communications networks. Today's economic and energy markets demand distribution of decision making in dynamic networks. This is effected by dividing the task into a set of small localized subtasks, one for each control agent. The model proposed here gives rise to a communication network design problem which is a bicriteria optimization with objectives of maximizing the influence perceived by the agents and minimizing the communication cost. The work related to these aspects is described and experimental evidence is gathered by applying the model to decompose control problems of two representative networks. The model successfully demonstrates that the communication-network design model can be effective at decomposing dynamic optimization problems. (31 refs.)
