To propose a class of new heuristics that combine genetic algorithm (GA) and the path relinking (PR) strategy to solve the multiple level warehouse layout problem (MLWLP). Warehouse management and operations are one of the essential parts of manufacturing and service operations. The warehouse layout problem is one of the important problems encountered in warehouse operation. The present paper presents a class of new heuristics that combine genetic algorithm (GA) and the path relinking (PR) strategy to solve the multiple level warehouse layout problem (MLWLP). For this, the authors have presented the description of the MLWLP by introducing the various assumptions and parameters (Section 2).
