摘要

Many municipal organizations are bringing regulations for freight movement with in urban areas. It is advisable to have distribution centers close to the customers, which may not be possible due to the above constraint. If the location is far away the distribution cost will be high. Thus it is necessary to choose distribution centers in such a way as to maximize the profit. This paper employs a multi-criteria decision making approach using fuzzy theory for location planning. The parameters used here are classified using linguistic terms high, normal and low and then converted in to fuzzy numbers for the purpose of decision making. (31 refs.)
