摘要

This paper investigates the relationship between failure rates and the number of test cases required to detect the faults. A probabilistic model is developed that makes use of failure rate information in order to predict an adequate test set size with respect to the fault criteria. The results are indicative of the fact that a precise estimation of fault failure rates can help accurately predict an adequate test set size with respect to the fault detection criterion. (40 refs.)
