Corporate philanthropic selection using data envelopment analysis

This paper presents a case study involving quantitative models for the selection of corporate philanthropic projects. It presents four analytic techniques for ranking and selecting philanthropic projects. The models are all loosely within the data envelopment analysis (DEA) framework and minimize the subjective nature of the decision making process. The paper shows how a company selects local high schools for partnering which consists of employee volunteer hours as well as monetary or equipment donations. (26 refs.)
