The role of absorptive capacity, communication and trust in ERP adoption

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are one of the most popular information systems used by large- and medium sized organizations in recent years. However, many users do not have sufficient technical knowledge for using the system. The article examines the role of trust, communication and absorptive capacity in predicting intention to use ERP systems in Iranian organizations. Based on a field survey of 184 ERP users working in organizations which are in the process of ERP implementation, the study tested sixteen research hypotheses based on structural equation modeling using partial Least squares approach. The results are discussed in terms of implications for managers. (91 refs.)
