More than 200,000 of Prodigy's 1.9 million password holders were using the World-Wide Web only three weeks after the consumer online service began providing access. As many as 15,000 subscribers were accessing the Web through Prodigy daily, the company said. Another Internet access provider, Netcom Communications, made an initial public stock offering in December that carried the second-highest valuation over the past five years of information industry public offerings.
