The irony of this approach is that, while libraries emphasize precise searching, their resolver tools actually restrict access to many available items. Our traditional journal subscription-based resolvers have become inadequate gateways to many important materials. Rather than dismissing open web searching for materials, we should reconsider the value of Google-type searching and linking and seamlessly introduce it later in the research process. This will assist with enhanced discovery.
