Private Company Conundrums

In all the years I've been doing business research, one pain point persists—private company information. Searching for private companies is one of the more intractable parts of doing business research, presenting many conundrums. Although the internet has made some elements of the research easier, it hasn't solved the underlying problem of private company research. Put simply, private companies don't have to tell us anything they don't want to. They don't have to report financials to a financial regulatory body, such as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and they don't publish annual reports.
