This paper sets out to evaluate whether the organic matter contained in solid urban waste (SUW) is effective in improving the physical characteristics and fertility of the soil in an olive orchard where non-tillage with bare soil is the soil management practice used. This was done by applying 45 t/ha of composted SUW on a sandy loam soil (typical Xerofluvent) located on the Alameda del Obispo farm of the Centro de Investigacion y Desarrollo Agrario de Cordoba.
