Phase IV of the West Delta Deep Marine subsea gas development began producing in 1Q 2008, shortly after the BG-led Burullus Gas Group sanctioned phase V. Phase IV began production through seven wells, which went online a month ahead of schedule and under budget. Factoring phase IV into the overall West Delta Deep Marine development, there are 31 subsea wells. The field first began producing in 2003 with eight wells at the Scarab and Saffron fields. Two years later, the group expanded the development with 16 additional wells on the Simian and Sienna fields for phase II and the Sapphire field for phase III.
