Subsea installation at Petrobras' Cascade-Chinook FPSO development in Walker Ridge blocks 206 and 469 of the deepwater Gulf of Mexico - the first FPSO development in the US sector of the Gulf of Mexico - is slated to begin this quarter. The FPSO Pioneer, which Petrobras is leasing from BW Offshore for eight years, will be installed in 8200ft of water. It will initially serve at least two subsea wells at Cascade and one in Chinook. Production will travel through five free-standing hybrid riser towers and link to the vessel through jumpers to a disconnectable turret. The FPSO is at the Keppel yard in Singapore, and the process modules were being installed on the deck as of writing.
