Towards a decision support system for maritime navigation on heavily trafficked basins

摘要

Sea traffic growing from year to year contributes significantly to increase of dangerous ship-ship encounters, which if not handled properly may result in an accident. The existing anti-collision systems installed on ships improve navigation safety significantly. However, navigation decision support systems solving complex encounter situations, providing navigator with simple but reliable information are still at the development stage.
