The weekly working hours of US physicians fell by around 7% between 1996 and 2008, according to a study published in a recent issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).rnThe research, by Douglas Staiger, of Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, and colleagues examined trends in hours worked by physicians using data from the US Census Bureau for each year between 1976 and 2008.
