Essentially, the AXE401 Shield Base is a project board that's based on the newly upgraded PICAXE-28X2 processor that I mentioned in a previous column. What makes it so exciting is that the 401 is specifically designed to be compatible - both in form and function - with the popular line of Arduino microprocessor boards.
