DOE’s nuclear energy work would get $656 million under House bill

A House Appropriations subcommittee approved annenergy and water funding bill for fiscal 2014 June 18 thatnincludes $656 million for DOE’s nuclear energy research,ndevelopment and demonstration activities for existing andnnext generation reactors. The suggested allocation is roughlyn$79.4 million below President Barack Obama’s budgetnrequest for the fiscal year beginning October 1.
