NRC faces ‘unprecedented’ prospect of gap in chairmanship

The US Nuclear Regulatory Commission faces the prospect of operating without a chairman for the first time in its history if a replacement for outgoing Chairman Kristine Svinicki is not appointed by the time she leaves the agency Jan. 20.
