摘要

This paper describes computational and experimental investigations of static characteristics of a natural circulation system at nuclear heating reactor conditions. Characteristic curves of a natural circulation system have been obtained by using a computing model, in which sub-cooled boiling, condensation, and flashing have been taken into account. Using characteristic curves to analyze the behavior of the natural circulation is a new method. As an example, flow excursion and heat siphon in a natural circulation with low steam quality and low pressure have been described by means of using the method of characteristic curves. The results show, that, under certain conditions, flow excursion will occur in a natural circulation system. The value predicted by the computing model is very close to the experimental value.
