Mammography and ~99mTc-MIBI scintimammography in breast cancer diagnosis

The aim of this work has been to evaluate whether a diagnostic proto- col based on the joint use of mammography and ~99mTc-MIBI scintimammgraphy can help to distinguish the lesions and to reduce the number of biopsies required in pa- tients with suspected breast cancer. A total of 58 women were evaluated by palpation, mammography, scintimammography. Twenty-four patients were scintimammographed with ~99mTc-MIBI at 10 min after injection.
