All five companies invited to file bindingoffers in a tender to select a strategicinvestor for Bulgaria's Belene NuclearPower Plant have confirmed theirinterest in the project.By the January 31 deadline, ChinaNational Nuclear Corp. (CNNC), KoreaHydro & Nuclear Power, Russia'sRosatom subsidiary Atomenergoprom,France's Framatome, and US-basedGeneral Electric had sent letters toconfirm they were ready to file bindingoffers. CNNC also sent additionalquestions to make a final decision onwhether to participate in the tender,according to Bulgaria's Energy Ministry.The deadline for submitting final offersis May 31. The Bulgarian governmenthopes to complete the project within10 years at the cost of up to €10.0 billion(US$11.0 billion).
