摘要

The MEGAwatt PlIot Experiment (MEGAPIE) target is a liquid lead-bismuth eutectic neutron spallation target, which is considered as a key experiment for the development of accelerator driven systems to transmute high level nuclear waste. The target has been designed in the frame of an international collaboration and it will be installed and irradiated at the SINQ facility of the Paul Scherrer Institut, Switzerland. This paper summarises the experiments done to assess the performance of the MEGAPIE window material, which is made of martensitic steel T91. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
