A mathematical model of a self-oscillating system based on resistively coupled van der Pol oscillators is presented. Two coupled oscillators are considered as an example to demonstrate that, in such a system, oscillations are chaotized if a relatively simple algorithm, referred to as a chaotizing feedback algorithm (CFA), is used. The mathematical model is analyzed numerically in the case when the partial oscillators are symmetrically or asymmetrically coupled. It is demonstrated that chaotization of oscillations is accompanied by switching between two additional attraction basins realized owing to the CFA.
