The paper presents a numerical study of an infinite two-dimensional ultra-wideband array consisting of an infinite array of inhomogeneous shielded strip impedance transformers and an array of planar horns, connected via special transitions. Issues of electrodynamic simulation and design of array components: impedance transformers, planar horns, and connecting transitions, are discussed. The accuracy of the synthesis of stepwise strip impedance transformers and stepwise planar horns in the approximation of the theory of microwave transmission lines is estimated and can be used to design arrays with an operating band wider than 10 : 1. The optimization of a transition from a strip transmission line to a planar horn is considered, and recommendations for the choice of its parameters are given. The results of a numerical study of the array in the scan mode are presented, showing that the array remains operable in a frequency range similar to 20 : 1 in the sector of scan angles +/- 40 degrees.
