Our friend Prometheus Tharoor sincerely wonders why anyone in America would become a teacher. At any level, the kids are stupefied by the brainwashing of individualism. Told they are 'unique' and as capable as the next child at doing anything they wish to do, sold a bill of goods that uses words like 'subjectivity' and 'relativity' to help them substitute 'feeling' for 'thinking/ they are beefwitted, bum-sucking fools. Sorry fools, fools who may be forgiven because their parents, habituated to foolishness themselves, have not bothered or were not able to provide them with the guidance necessary to imbue them with curiosity while preparing them to learn. They 'have' children, they do not rear them, and having them, they rarely know what to do with them.
