Integrated Industrial Plant for Product Development to Production: Kofu Plant of Yokogawa Electric Corp.

In Japan, many enterprises consign the work of manufacturing product components to other companies and engage only in product assembly at their own plants, decreasing labor costs. However, manufacturing the necessary components in their own plants enables products of higher quality levels to be produced with stability, so adopting the integrated product development to component manufacturing method provides the distinct advantage of much larger returns through cost reduction.
