Asahi Kasei Corp. has developed a system called Electrodeposition Closed System (ECS) for recycling of waste water generated in the process of automobile painting. A special type of filtration membrane and a feed waste water control software have been developed, by which the company succeeded in recovering 50% of the paint components from the waste water. The remaining water is reuti-lized as rinsing water, by which the waste water volume is reduced to one-fifth.
