Kyoshin Engineering Co., Ltd. has developed an incineration ash melting and slagging system called Sojourn Type Oscillating Incineration Ash Melting and Slagging Furnace, KSY Series. Melting and slagging the incineration ash reduces the ash to 1/3-1/5 its original volume, allowing ultimate disposal without requiring much space. Melting and solidifying the ash prevents the effusion of heavy metals from the slag, or permits the ash to be rendered stable and usable as quality slag that is harmless, and the molten slag has effective uses as an aggregate for producing construction materials, concrete and tiles. The system consists of a melting furnace, a heat exchange type cyclone, a cooling system, a dust collection system and a smokestack.
