Deer succumb to the stress of the chase

A single scientific report last week gave supporters of hunting with hounds a bigger jolt than hunt saboteurs have ever managed. The report, from Patrick Bateson of the University of Cambridge, says that red deer can be in a worse state physiologically after a chase by hounds than after a traumatic road accident.
