TDK shows flexible, see-through passive matrix organic light-emitting diode panels

TDK Corp has developed two types of passive matrix organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels. One is a flexible type whose display is bendable, and the other is a see-through type, and the company has prototyped each panel with colour and monochrome displays.rnThe flexible OLED panel is as thin as 0.3 mm or less. The weights of the colour-and monochrome-display models are 1.11 g and 0.96 g, respectively. With the use of a resin substrate, the thickness and the weight were reduced to about 1/6 those of existing panels using a glass substrate.
