Women in engineering: Addressing the skills shortage

The UK already faces a shortage of skilled engineers, estimated by EngineeringUK in its 2017 State of Engineering Report at 20,000 annually. Brexit is not going to alleviate the situation and, at least initially, is likely to aggravate it. Nurturing new, home grown engineering talent is essential, and one obvious start point is to increase the focus on women.
