Closing the Loop between Neuroscience and Information Technology: A Possible Mission?

Computational neuroscience is a truly interdisciplinary field, connecting a wide range of approaches, from clinical applications to engineering. In its extremes, computational neuroscientists can be grouped into two (little overlapping) categories: The "neuroscientists" who aim to understand the function and dysfunction of the nervous system using mathematical and computational methods, and the "computer scientists" who aim to improve computer algorithms trying to imitate brain-type computations.
