As storage-related expenses chew up ever-larger amounts of IT budgets, IT executives looking for ways to contain storage costs are increasingly turning to a heterogeneous management approach to help them rein in costs while improving performance. That is but one of the key findings of a recent study by The Yankee Group on storage management return on investment. The Yankee Group, a research firm based in Boston, surveyed 289 IT executives at Global 2000 firms for the study, and also homed in on three users of VERITAS Software storage management tools to determine total cost of ownership and ROI figures for their VERITAS deployments.
