Oracle, Sun deals shake up market

Last weeks billion-dollar acquisitions by Oracle and Sun jolted the software market, and raised some new concerns for enterprises pursuing service-oriented-architec-ture deployments and considering using open source code to flesh them out. The concerns are twofold. In the case of Oracle's $8.5 billion deal to purchase middleware maker BEA Systems, customers worry that overlapping product lines could result in the discontinuation of some products.
