New exploits, buffer overflows and denial of service attacks are released every day, so security managers and administrators depend on network intrusion-detection systems (IDSs) to provide alerts and track potential threats. Intrusion's updated SecureNet Provider meets their needs with performance increases to its underlying sensor engine. The SecureNet Provider client application includes an enhanced Web interface and updates that allow historical queries and reporting of IDS events in the network IDS database. Implemented in a three-tier architecture, but deployable in one-or two-tier models as well, Secure-Net works well for small offices and enterprises. Each tier builds on the functionality of the lower tiers.
