摘要

Not long ago, I was enjoying our weekly IT directors' meeting when I got some news that nearly made me choke on my coffee. "Hey, I almost forgot," Steve Fox, our CIO, said nonchalantly. "It looks like we are going to be acquiring another firm." I hope when I grow up and become a CIO, I'll have a better bedside manner than Steve has. If you've worked in business for any length of time, you've probably been through a merger or two. One day you're operating blissfully (well, almost), the next day you're faced with integrating an entirely new group of servers, applications, users and IT staffers. It's like a major technology migration, only with a ton more business and people issues.
