I'm sorry to say I completely disagree with Ryan. Sure there are lots of different opinions in regard to angel funding, startup investment and accelerators, and I don't know a whole lot about Mark Hales and his Oxygen Accelerator. However, let me give an alternative point of view. First, I don't agree that a £20k loan for six per cent of the company is necessarily a bad deal. The Government Loan Guarantee Scheme, as far as I remember, only guarantees the loan after your assets have been wiped out. Got a house? Tough. In any case, accelerators specialise in risk capital. Let's not forget how easy it is to lose cash like this.
