CSS Shaders head for standards stamp

In issue 223, we reported on CSS Shaders, Adobe's proposal for boosting the scope for visual effects in CSS, primarily through distortion and effects filters. At the time, Vincent Hardy, web standards principal scientist at Adobe Systems (see pi6 for more from him), enthused that the technology would bring "a wealth of visual expressive power to web authors". It looks as if his dreams will come true, since CSS Shaders have now been entered into the Filter Effects 1.0 Editor's Draft.
