NEC's Approach for Parallel Processing on Mainframe Systems (Parallel OLTP, Parallel batch and Parallel SQL)

NEC's "Parallel ACOS' series has realized high cost/performance mainframes using highly paralleled TCMP (Tightly Coupled Multiprocessor) which consists of a multiple number of one-chip-CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor)-processors and make it possible to connect more than eight processors. "ACOS-4/XVP PX," NEC's operating system of mainframe utilizes this new hardware technology and introduces parallel processing to the business application areas on mainframe (including online transaction processing, batch processing, and database processing).
