Pods make airborne signals intelligence available for many aircraft types

Several manufactures offer pod-mounted solutions for airborne SIGINT. L3Harris Technologies has recently introduced the RASISR (Rapid, Adaptable, Smart, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance) S1GTNT pod for deployment on multiple aircraft types, including transport, tanker, maritime patrol aircraft and business jets. The RASISR pod hosts a full-spectrum SIGINT capability including COMINT, ELINT and special signals detection. The Rio airborne COMINT and Olympia ELINT systems are at the heart of RASISR. Rio has a frequency range of 100kHz to 6GHz and can demodulate all standard signal protocols. These include frequency modulation, amplitude modulation, single sideband and frequency shift keying. Olympia covers frequencies of 500MHz to 40GHz with 15GHz of instantaneous bandwidth and can detect continuous wave and pulse doppler radars.
