Uruguayan Navy: Heterogeneous fleet envisions additional capability

Despite the fact that the Uruguayan Navy is about to receive more modern surface assets in the near future, it is simply the price to pay for operating obsolete equipment. Donations and 'second-hand' acquisitions (like the four Metal Shark Defiant 32 patrol boats from the United States) are one side of the medal; the acquisition of new-construction assets, like the Luerssen OPB-40 design, would provide for a much-needed boost to Uruguay's patrol forces.
